St. Columba's College CANSAT 2017

CanSat 

Cansat is run across schools in Ireland and Europe and is aimed at young people interested in space technology. Cansat is a simulation of a satellite recording information integrated into a 330ml soft drinks can. The main challenge is to fit all the necessary electronic components (pressure sensor, thermistor and radio communications) needed in the can to record information and survive the conditions of a launch. Cansat in Europe is an initiative of the European Space Agency (ESA), they support the  national Cansat events with the help of the local colleges in our case DIT Kevin St and Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) have helped us with our cansat project.
