The 3D printing was done with an ‘Ultimaker 2’ 3D printer using 2.85mm thickness PLA material. Polylactic acid or (PLA) this is a biodegradable and bioactive thermoplastic derived from renewable resources in this case corn starch.
The design though similar to our original can provides additional air holes as during the regional competition our temperature readings increased which was not correct and we assumed that we were taking the internal can temperature and not the external temperature. We also added a small window in the outer casing for our photo sensor and space for our camera and video recorder.

The above picture shows the winners of the regional final which were Belvedere College and St. Columba's College.
To calibrate our pressure sensor we took an afternoon trip up the Dublin Mountains. Leonard downloaded a barometer, Ted with Laptop and phone recording position above sea level and Alejandro with Arduino and note book!!! We got some great results.
Had to make a bit of a hack on the Arduino to finally get some real data..... Yipee
